ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE PLANNING

With the passage of the Clinger-Cohen Act in 1996, Federal agencies are required to have a formal Enterprise Architecture plan in place. Quality Technology Inc. has successfully worked with a number of our clients in establishing and detailing their Enterprise Architectures.

QuTech uses a variety of tools to support EA planning, modeling and repository management, including the full Metis software suite from Troux Technologies, and System Architect from Popkin Software. QuTech's tool-related services include EA tool evaluation, EA work-product migration, integration of EA tools with project and capital planning, and tool-based training.

QuTech supports the entire lifecycle of EA planning. Our EA-related services cover:

  • Facilitation of EA planning sessions with stakeholders such as the CIO and senior executives, business line managers, technology managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Compliance with appropriate standards such as the Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework (FEAF) and DOD Architecture Framework (DODAF)
  • Developing EA plans and work products in accordance with the five (5) FEAF reference models (BRM, DRM, TRM, PRM, SRM)
  • Establishing best-practices for EA planning such as those published by Dr. Steven Spewak.
  • Participation in IAC and EA committees to help develop EA standards and best practices.
  • Support for capital planning, A300 submissions, and OMB A-130 reporting requirements.
  • Support for strategic planning, transition planning, business case analysis, business modeling, business process re-engineering, and data modeling.
  • Integration of new initiatives and technology (e.g., E-Gov, PKI, or biometrics).
  • Support for EA seminars, staff orientation, and training initiatives.
  • Assisting with agency representation at Departmental and Inter-Departmental working group meetings.

QuTech specializes in the development and implementation of GIS solutions that integrate spatial (geographic) and tabular data from a variety of sources. These GIS solutions enable modeling of real and theoretical situations to support management and decision-making across a broad spectrum of applications. INFORMATION ASSURANCE (C&A)

QuTech provides Information Assurance and IT Security support using a layered approach with a strong understanding of commercial best practices and Government regulations. We provide border protection through firewall, intrusion detection, and VPN management. Next, we provide system protection through Network and Systems security management, Anti-Virus and patch management, and incident handling. We also support biometric security systems, including smart cards and iris scanning solutions.

Finally, we address all aspects of Security planning, policy development, and FISMA compliance. This includes risk assessment, vulnerability/threat analysis, contingency and disaster recovery planning, ST&E planning and independent ST&E, and Certification & Accreditation (C&A) support according to NIACAP, DITSCAP and NIST 800 Series Publication standards.
